Tides....

I have been reading a bit of media coverage provided by my friends via social networks, and I have been seeing a growing number of protests happening across America, the latest of which was held by the Occupy Wall Street Members. This protest resulted in some 700+ arrests. Mostly due to traffic violations from what I can tell. It's interesting seeing how the media coverage can change from minute to minute with the digital age. Recollections of events that start off mild and tame, can in minutes be changed into altogether different accounts. As the incidents happened in this particular rally the number of arrests reported started at dozens and within minutes the very same article was edited to read hundreds and soon upwards of 700+.
I'm typically not very protest minded, but with the overall mindset of American culture right now it feels like there could be a turning point. I feel like with unemployment at 7 to 15%, the amount of foreclosures, and loss of pensions, 401ks, and futures. The failure of current government to unite, and even conservatives and liberals in every walk of life getting completely fed up with the way society is run. The majority is not happy and could easily blow up. I know even conservative middle class people hate how things are. Everybody seems to agree on basic principles but won't speak against the people destroying them. You read it in silly chain mail letters and conversations with strangers but everyone including myself dont do anything to force change. Ive been writing my reps for the last two years complaining, but I hope there is a big change. We don't even realize that not only are the same things happening in history over and over but they become larger and worse and harder to stop. When people are taken care of with nice jobs and plenty of entitlements to look forward to, feel content and secluded. When those things get stripped away, they become aware of what society is really doing wrong. Too many people out there are getting to the point where they have nothing to lose.
