My father

My parents separated when I was at a young age. I wasn't old enough to be really affected by the change but old enough to know what was happening to my family. Over the years following I grew closer to my father and farther from my mother. My father.... is the best man that I know. He has helped me at so many points in my life. My father is the type of man who would give every ounce of himself to serve others. He has always maintained a constant fortitude to do the right thing and maintain his integrity. Even in the face of so many terrible things and points in which most men would have given up, he stayed strong. We had a lot to deal with during my parents separation, the largest issue was my mother trying to make us hate our father for leaving us. My father was always there, but he had to leave.

A statement that I heard and that rings true with my father is "Men of integrity expect to be believed and when they're not they let time prove them right." My father wept for us on so many nights when he knew that his own children had turned away from him. As the years passed he was strong and consistent and always there for us. Each of us realized that our father cared deeply for us and would always be there. All of us children at one point or another moved away from our mother emotionally through a number of personal and emotional events that opened us up to what our father had been going through all those years.

One by one we left and joined our father, knowing that what he did was out of necessity and because he cared for us. In recent years my father is the man I always turn to. He is the one I will always call when I have a question or concern or just looking for advice. I know I can ask him anything and ask anything of him. He has played the devils advocate, my personal coach, my cheering section, guidance counselor, moral supporter and friend. He touches the lives of so many. Everyone who knows him, loves him. He gives himself to everyone he meets. His clients shower him with gifts and praise and through his hands he has helped thousands with his craft.

One trait I have always admired, is that, I can ask my Dad anything. I could ask any question I could think of and my father would always take the time to answer me in the most intelligent and thoughtful way he knew. Even if he didn't know, we could still have a lengthy discussion on the topic. He opened a thirst for knowledge in me. A desire to ask, to learn, and to question. Most people I know, when asked, would prefer to avoid discussion; and if they did manage to answer if would be short, concise and usually fairly biased.

I have always felt for my father, because for so long he has taken care of others and never had true time for himself. Even after us children left home he was still looking after us and soon had the task of looking after his own parents. In the last couple years he has regained some freedom in his life and its awesome to see that he is doing things to enjoy himself. Setting up his man cave, buying a new car and a motorcycle spending less time in his practice and more time for himself. Spending more time with friends and family. I cherish the trip we were able to take to Hawaii, the time we were able to spend together and way we were able to find out and cope with the loss of our grandfather as a family.

I think of all the great things my father has done for me and how much he means to me. I think of the day I had to watch my best friends father die. I have never wept so hard in my life. Not only because another great man died that day but because I could not imagine losing my own father who has meant so much to me.

He helped me buy my first car.

He taught me the value of hard work

He gave me everything I ever needed but not everything I ever wanted

He has helped all of us children mentally physically and monetarily without a second thought

He kept our family together

He encouraged me

He helped me in the hardest of times

He helped me buy my first house

He helped me start my first business

He helped me sell my first house

He helped me in returning to school to start a new career

He was one of very few that helped me move last year.

He is my role model

He is my mentor

He has lent me his time

He has lent me his money

He has lent me his ear

He has lent me his hand

He showed us all compassion and consistency pays off

He is one of my very few great friends

Dad

Thanks for everything you do. I owe you so much and if I have the opportunity to give half as much back I will be honored.

Comments on Anti Occupy Video

I think this video is obviously contradictory to the occupy wall street movement (since he felt compelled to criticize and critique every statement of the occupy wall street movement) and i thought was contradictory to a end the fed movement. Maybe im just misinformed. What about big oil corporations? Dont think they play any part in government policies? Haliburton ring a bell? FDA? Monsanto? Im sure someone smarter than me could spew out a whole list of companies that continuously influence government policies.
saying corporations arent to blame for what the government does? 43 minutes ago · Like · 1

Shane Henderson @Rod Mayberry... you sir are the asshole! first Dr.Ron Paul did NOT say that... the commentator did and a few assholes like yourself in the crowd cheered... not Ron Paul. As a matter of fact, Ron Paul went on to say that no , he did not want that and that when he was practicing medicine that he worked at a hospital that didnt even charge with or without insurance! in short get your facts straight you fucking troll! 27 minutes ago · Unlike · 2

Dmitri J. Robaina @ Eric "Those that want smaller government cant expect the government to further regulate the corporations" - I'm not sure about that... Cause it might not need to regulate. Just protect the free market environment, then the corporations will regulate themselves, since the competition will eat up those that do wrong (and especially those that fail and go bankrupt). 25 minutes ago · Like

Eric Snyder I think the idea that free markets allow for competition, and "companies will get eaten up by the competition" doesnt necessarily work when the corporation are so vast that they control the free market itself and control the ebb and flow of the market by manipulating through insider trading...does that sound stupid and does that refer to your statement about the gov preventing that from happening through regulation. 14 minutes ago · Like

Shane Henderson @Dmitri the banks didn't take out money.... the government loaned the banks our money in the bailouts... the banks had to pay it back and did! the government then invested the money into the war machine.... don't get me wrong the banks and corporation are a big part of the problem but by no means all of it.... the government IS the problem! also for those of you saying the FED is a banking corporation are half right... it is still a government tool with no over site until Ron Paul introduced the bill that passed to audit them. here is a fact that most are not taking into account about the fed. they are a private bank. True, but!!!! the council of governors at the federal reserve bank are appointed by the potus and confirmed by a senate select committee.

HR blackhole

Trying to find a job nowadays is crazy, its like sending out a thousand messages in a bottle and letting em loose out on the Pacific and hoping they are found. OK, so maybe not. But that's what it feels like. You toss your resume into the void of the internet and hope for the best. I have a LOT of resumes floating out there right now and waiting for the callbacks. This is where the "patience is a virtue" thing comes into play. Right now my biggest drive is to not spend another winter in Ohio...or any state touching it. If I have my way I would like to be on the western coast or another continent. I would be perfectly content with Australia, South America, even Canada I suppose as long as its not nearly as flat as Ohio. I want to be able to run hike jump climb and just be inspired by nature, not bored to death by it. In Ohio, its cold and colder then about the time the climate warms up the great black swamp mosquitoes start to come out full force. I have been across the country quite a bit and I think I can honestly say that the mosquitoes in my back yard are akin to the mosquitoes of Africa or any equatorial zone. Really I'm not too bothered by them anymore. I have built a tolerance to them. But of any of the places in north america that I have been, they are way worse. We have a certain breed of tiger looking mosquitoes that is about the size of a quarter. Its quite the shocker and you look down and see a blood engorged creature with a stinger the size of a large medical syringe stuck about an inch into your arm.
But back to the original point at hand. The job I am looking for is a national type job. Typically the only way to apply is to post an application online and hope someone is paying attention on the other end. It would be easy enough to walk around town with a handful of resumes or sit down with a phone in hand and call a slew of local businesses, but applying online is easy and hard at the same time. You can apply to soooo many jobs all from the comfort of your own home. But you have to play the numbers game and hope that one in one hundred gets picked out of the bunch.
I have a career services department at my disposal, which helps a little. a little. They supposedly have contacts and associations and are supposed to be able to provide additional support. They send me a posting, I reply with a application. They forward it to the company along with hundreds of other submissions from my school who all have nearly the same qualifications as I do, because they went to the same school. Don't get me wrong, I have some pretty great qualifications, but if an employer has to pick through 200 resumes that have even 50% of the same info on every one. Somebody is falling through the cracks. So a few weeks later we shall see who is gonna get a call back. You try to talk to the Career Services about a job that you applied to and all you hear back is that don't have any information, its out of there hands. My thought is that they should probably be making those contacts. I have pushed through so much paperwork and investigated soo many companies over the last few months. I should be in career services. I'm like a detective tracking down names and numbers of the elusive HR. Whatever, I sit and wait and look. I just want out of Ohio before winter hits....

Inflated

"You could buy a gallon of gas for a dime, a silver dime, a silver dime under the gold standard would be worth $3.26." You print too many dollars and the value of money falls. overinflation.

Hey World?

Hey World,
What do you know about Ron Paul. I've been seeing a lot about this guy lately and there's nothing I've heard him say that I can't agree with. You always send me chainmail messages regarding the state of the nation and this guy seems to touch on all the bases. Across the board. I'm not trying to campaign to you, I just want your opinion.

I got a lot of young friends that are very liberal and kinda out there who are all about this guy and have been. So I kinda take their political views with a grain of salt and try to research before I come to conclusions. I also know that he's getting a lot of support from active duty military, republicans of all walks of life, young people, old people, crazies, liberal media, and on and on. But you never hear about him much?

He's got a bunch of videos on his site here at

Tides....

I have been reading a bit of media coverage provided by my friends via social networks, and I have been seeing a growing number of protests happening across America, the latest of which was held by the Occupy Wall Street Members. This protest resulted in some 700+ arrests. Mostly due to traffic violations from what I can tell. It's interesting seeing how the media coverage can change from minute to minute with the digital age. Recollections of events that start off mild and tame, can in minutes be changed into altogether different accounts. As the incidents happened in this particular rally the number of arrests reported started at dozens and within minutes the very same article was edited to read hundreds and soon upwards of 700+.
I'm typically not very protest minded, but with the overall mindset of American culture right now it feels like there could be a turning point. I feel like with unemployment at 7 to 15%, the amount of foreclosures, and loss of pensions, 401ks, and futures. The failure of current government to unite, and even conservatives and liberals in every walk of life getting completely fed up with the way society is run. The majority is not happy and could easily blow up. I know even conservative middle class people hate how things are. Everybody seems to agree on basic principles but won't speak against the people destroying them. You read it in silly chain mail letters and conversations with strangers but everyone including myself dont do anything to force change. Ive been writing my reps for the last two years complaining, but I hope there is a big change. We don't even realize that not only are the same things happening in history over and over but they become larger and worse and harder to stop. When people are taken care of with nice jobs and plenty of entitlements to look forward to, feel content and secluded. When those things get stripped away, they become aware of what society is really doing wrong. Too many people out there are getting to the point where they have nothing to lose.

Last night

Went out last night and had a good time with some friends i haven't gotten to really hang out with in awhile. Overall I'm a little bored. Now that I'm done with school, every time I work I keep thinking .....I wish I was working on a wind tower right now.... but alas I am not. I'm not too worried, soon enough I will be on a tower  enjoying my job. I've only been out of school for a month now. I've got A LOT of resumes out right now and have all my fingers and toes crossed for a shout out soon. My grades, attendance, work history, education, .....everything supports my career choice right now. I just need a new job.
My whole reason for initiating this chain of events, was a conversation that Gloria had with one of her clients. She is married to a Siemens Travelling Wind Technician with three children and couldn't be happier? He couldn't be happier with his job either. It turns out the more people I speak to in the wind industry the more I find that they are for the most part extremely happy with there jobs and their employers. It shouldn't be a shock, I suppose, but every person I've ever talked to at least has some discontent or would rather complain about there job than praise it. I knew I wanted in. I found out what school he had gone to and enrolled within the week. I started class October 22nd, 2010.
A year later I have gone through quite a bit. I have put myself in a position to sell my house and my possessions, detach from everything that is keeping me here in Ohio, more or less. Preparing to leave and travel and work. I don't plan on letting myself get in the way of my own success or happiness. I want everything to be putting me one step closer to my goal. Tony Wade, one of my instructors told me; "In this business you gotta be flexible, just remember Semper Gumby
I was just reading a post on Twitter that I wrote back over the winter about getting bit by a dog. Awesome, one of the many reasons I need to look into a new career. I find that in the industry that I'm hoping to be a part of, it seems there are more methods of preventing injury. Right now, I got nothing. I walk on crazy roof pitches, climb chimneys, antenna towers, trees, and anything else without any form of prevention. Crazy. The more I work, the more I think about these things and worry about wrecking my body before I have a chance to do something great. Along with the fact that I have no health insurance...whole other story.
